Setting up a new user can
be fairly complex, and you can really strap someone down, or leave them
wide open, based on the settings you set. The following is a basic
run through of setting up users.
-
Click on your start
menu, click select programs, and then select your net nanny folder,
then choose the "Net Nanny Settings" icon.
-
Enter in your administrator
password, and click ok.
-
This should bring up
the System Settings window. On the left side, click on the
"User Settings" option. (Figure

-
This should bring up a
list of current users, and the only user that should be listed is
the Anybody user. Select one of the open users, and enter in a
username and password. It can be your HunTel.net username and
password, but it does not have to be. Then click the
"Add" button. You should now have something that looks
similar to (Figure 2).
-
On the left in the
list of users, click on the new user you just created. This
should bring up the settings for this user.
-
The next section is
all up to you, based on what kind of content you wish to see.
The pictures to the right give some information on what some of the
information means.
There are many more
options available to you with the Net Nanny, most of which you will just
have to play around with, or read the manual to assist you in finding
what they do. Net Nanny is a very powerful tool, however be
careful not to be too restrictive, you don't want your child to run to
you every time he/she can't access something that is ok. If you
have any further questions, or problems, contact us or Net Nanny using
the options above, or click on the contact
link at the top of this page.
